During the World’s Fair of Money® (WFM) on August 25-29, the ANA will debut its exclusive America 250 commemorative medal. Renowned artist Heidi Wastweet designed the limited-edition medal to celebrate the United States’s semiquincentennial and the nation’s core ideals.

An allegorical Liberty carries a laurel wreath on the obverse, symbolizing victory in the Revolutionary War. In her other hand, she holds an eternal flame, which is surrounded by the 13 stars of the original colonies. To her right is the legend KEEPING LIT THE FLAME OF FREEDOM with 1776-2026 to the left. “Like a flame, liberty survives only through constant vigilance,” says Wastweet. “I believe this flame is worth preserving not only for ourselves, but for our neighbors and future generations.”

The reverse features a colonial-style eagle on a pillar with the numerals 250 at its base and YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE below. The Grand Union Flag of 1776 appears in the background. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA frames the upper half of the central design.

World’s Fair of Money attendees who make a $250 donation to the ANA will receive the standard America 250 medal (400 available). A $500 donation will include the medal encapsulated with a special America 250 label (limited to 100) provided by Numismatic Guaranty Company. There is a limit of one standard and one special-label medal per household.
