In preparation for vibrant autumn foliage, the Royal Canadian Mint has released two Maple Leaf coins featuring the mint’s new vivid toning effect.

Available in .9999-fine silver $20 and .9999-fine gold $200 versions, the new releases showcase Walter Ott’s iconic design in ultra-high relief. On the silver version, the maple leaf is colored in iridescent yellow, orange, and red hues, reminiscent of an autumn forest. The leaf is a vibrant crimson on the gold $200.

The silver and gold releases are available on the Royal Canadian Mint’s website for US$187 and US$6,336, with mintages of 11,000 and 550, respectively.
