The ordering period for the 2026 Netherlands gold ducats opened May 1 and will close June 30. Struck by the Royal Dutch Mint, these annually issued, .983-fine gold coins are based on the original examples from the 16th and 17th centuries. The newest 3.5g gold ducats will explore the history of Dutch trade guilds, with a different guild featured each year from 2026 to 2029. The 2026 issue honors the blacksmiths’ guild.

The obverse features a knight in armor with arrows, originally designed by Utrecht Mint engraver Johan Willem Marmé, who served from 1763 to 1795. The legend CONCORDIA RED PARVAE CRESCUNT (“Unity Makes Strength”) encircles the design. On the reverse, the text MO. AUR. REG. BELGII AD LEGEM IMPERII (“Gold coin of the Kingdom of the Netherlands by law of the Empire”) is in the center. A small hammer and pliers appear in the design framing the central text.

The ducats are available for $914.95 through the Coin & Currency Institute’s website. The mintage will be determined based on the number of orders received.
