The Italian State Mint has released the second issue in its Flora and Fauna silver bullion series. The 1-ounce coin recognizes the lily, a symbol of purity, devotion, and rebirth.

In celebration of Italy’s native plants and animals, the Flora and Fauna series began in 2025 with a silver bullion issue featuring the daisy. The coin marked Italy’s first bullion release since the silver 5 lira of 1914, which depicted a Roman quadriga chariot.

On the 2026 Flora and Fauna issue, three lilies grace the obverse. The inscription LILIUM appears at the bottom right, with REPUBBLICA ITALIANA above. The reverse depicts a woman wearing a crown of flowers to symbolize Italian flora, and olive and oak branches frame the portrait. The legend FLORA is at left along with the denomination (25 cents).

With a limited mintage of 17,000, the lily bullion coin is expected to sell out quickly, much like the series’ first issue. The piece is available through the Italian State Mint and on APMEX’s website.
