Limited to just 199 pieces worldwide, this special edition combines dramatic fantasy imagery, Ultra High Relief smartminting® technology, selective gilding, and detailed digital printing in an imposing 5-ounce silver format.

The 5-ounce Special Edition builds on the success of CIT’s original 3-ounce Thunder Dragon, first introduced as part of the CIT Winter Launch 2026 at the World Money Fair. That initial release generated strong collector demand and remarkable engagement, making Thunder Dragon one of the standout designs from the launch.

The new special edition expands the concept into a larger 65mm format, giving the artwork even more room to develop in three dimensions and allowing the warrior and dragon imagery to rise dramatically from the surface.

One of the defining features of the Thunder Dragon 5-ounce Silver Coin is its use of smartminting® Ultra High Relief.

This advanced minting technique creates exceptional depth and sculptural detail while maintaining the precision needed for an intricate design.
