ANA Wins Big at NLG Awards Ceremony

The Numismatic Literary Guild (NLG) announced the winners of its 2025 annual awards competition at the NLG Awards Luncheon on August 21 during the World’s Fair of Money® in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The ANA’s Reading Room was awarded “Best News or Blog Website” in the Website/Digital category for the second year in a row. The Reading Room, which launched in October 2023, received this distinction for being the “best interactive blog that communicates information and personal commentaries about the numismatic hobby.” The ANA’s website, money.org, also received recognition as the “Best Non-Trade Website.” 

David Schenkman received the “Best Tokens & Medals Article or Column” award for his “Entertainment in 19th-Century America,” a two-part feature that was published in the October and November 2024 issues of The Numismatist. His work discusses the tokens that advertised the traveling shows, circus performances, and other forms of entertainment that were popular in the 1800s.
