The Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) swore in Sam Gelberd on May 20 for the “specially qualified in numismatics” position, a vacancy created earlier this year when now-retired Publisher Dennis Tucker’s second term expired.

Gelberd is an independent numismatic educator and content creator. He worked in numismatic education at the ANA for over 10 years and authored a website feature and The Numismatist column “Treasures in Your Pocket.” He has also assisted with updates to the Cherrypickers’ Guide to Rare Die Varieties of United States Coins. Gelberd is a member of several organizations, including the Florida United Numismatists and CONECA.
