Up, Up, and Away!

In tandem with the release of the newest Superman movie in theaters, the U.S. Mint is now accepting pre-orders for the first release in its Comic Art Coin and Medal Program. Three products are available: a 24kt gold proof coin, a 1-ounce silver medal, and a 2.5-ounce silver medal. All three feature Superman and his alter ego Clark Kent. The silver medals are priced at $135 for the 1 ounce (unlimited mintage) and $275 for the 2.5 ounce (mintage limited to 25,000). The price of the gold coin will fluctuate; as of this writing, it’s set at $2,750, with a limited mintage of 10,000.
