The United States Mint recently unveiled the roster of 37 artists participating in the Artistic Infusion Program (AIP). Launched in 2003 to invigorate the mint’s pool of artistic talent, the Artistic Infusion Program contracts with a variety of professional artists representing a diversity of backgrounds, influences, and disciplines to provide designs for the nation’s coins and medals.

These external artists prepare work under the guidance of the mint’s staff, including the chief engraver, to provide designs for circulating coins, commemoratives, medals, and other issues.
