The Royal Canadian Mint has released a colorful coin in celebration of spring. Named after the traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs decorated using beeswax and dyes, the egg-shaped .9999-fine silver psyanka coin features a vibrant purple, yellow, green, and blue floral pattern on the reverse, emphasizing spring’s early buds and blooms. The inscription CANADA 2026 is at the bottom. King Charles III’s effigy and the denomination ($20) appear on the obverse. Designer Natalie Kit, who also designed the 2023 and 2025 psyanka coins, drew inspiration from her childhood memories, her connection with nature, and the first spring flowers.

The psyanka series has been popular since its debut in 2016, and the coins are expected to sell out quickly. The 2026 version will be available for US$214.58 (CAD$299.95) on the Royal Canadian Mint’s website.
