Videos from the NNP Symposium, held November 2-4, 2023, can now be viewed on the Newman Numismatic Portal (NNP) website.

The feature presentation, “Treasures of the ANA Museum,” highlights some of the spectacular rarities of the ANA’s collection. The NNP-produced video begins with a 20-minute segment narrated by Lianna Spurrier. After delving into the history of the ANA and the Edward C. Rochette Money Museum, she discusses several of the museum’s most valuable and rare pieces, including the 1913 Liberty nickel, two examples of the 1804 dollar, and a 1933 gold eagle.

American Numismatic Association Museum Curator Doug Mudd answers viewer questions on various aspects of the collection for the remaining 40 minutes of the hour-long presentation. Mudd says the video provides an excellent overview of the ANA collection. It highlights many of the individual great rarities, as well as the important collections donated to the museum over the years, from “the famed Bebee collection of U.S. paper currency to recent additions, such as the Baker-Manley collection of Washingtonia donated by Dwight M. Manley and the important collection of California Pioneer gold donated by Dr. Carlson Chambliss.” He says the video is “a definite must-see if you are interested in the ANA Edward C. Rochette Money Museum—especially in conjunction with our award-winning online virtual tours!”
