The Royal Mint is celebrating the 90th anniversary of Monopoly with commemorative coins, produced in partnership with Hasbro.

The first reverse design, which is only available on the 1/4-ounce gold proof coin, depicts Mr. Monopoly passing GO on the game board with the legend MONOPOLY below. A second reverse design appears on all the other Monopoly issues from the Royal Mint. It features iconic elements of the classic board game, including Mr. Monopoly, player tokens, and game cards, with the Monopoly logo in the center. The design also includes a lenticular feature that transitions from the GO sign to the Monopoly money symbol when the coin is turned. Additionally, the silver proof colorized 50 pence comes encapsulated in a custom acrylic block.

Emma Noble designed the 1/4-ounce gold proof reverse, and Bella Briggs crafted the other reverse design. Mintage of the brilliant-uncirculated 50 pence is unlimited, while the mintages for the other versions are as follows: 15,000 (brilliant uncirculated color), 4,500 (silver proof color), 1,250 (1/4-ounce gold proof), and 90 (gold proof 50 pence).

The Royal Mint also produced a Monopoly 2025 advent calendar to mark the occasion. It contains 23 chocolate coins and a Monopoly 2025 brilliant-uncirculated colorized 50 pence. As a festive surprise, one lucky calendar out of the 2,500 available will contain the gold proof edition of the commemorative coin.

All the Royal Mint’s Monopoly products are available for purchase on its website.
