The Grinch Appears at the World’s Fair of Money®

Dr. Seuss Enterprises has approved the use of depictions of Dr. Seuss’s iconic characters on legal-tender collector coins for the first time since the company’s founding in 1993. Kevin Lipton Rare Coins presented the first specimen, featuring the iconic Grinch, at the 2024 World’s Fair of Money. The presentation took place on August 7 at Ernie’s Treasure Treehouse with Louis Melamed of Kevin Lipton Rare Coins, ANA Executive Director Kim Kiick, and ANA President Tom Uram.

The coin depicts the titular character from Dr. Seuss’s children’s book How the Grinch Stole Christmas in full color with the legend E PLURBIUS FUN ‘EM. Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, wrote and illustrated over 60 children’s books and received a Pulitzer Prize for his work.
