Founded in 2022, the Institute for Silver Dollar Education and Research has officially launched its website. Several years in the making, ilovesilverdollars.org includes hundreds of pages of information that support the organization’s mission to “unite like-minded enthusiasts, provide cutting edge research, and expand the silver dollar market through accessible member engagement and educational content.” The site covers background information and provides a variety of images, tips on selling and estate planning, a VAM Discovery Hall of Fame, a dealer listing, references, and more.

In addition to the website, the institute’s board of directors (Michael S. Fey, Ph.D.; Jeff Oxman; and John Baumgart) has recently assembled a lineup of silver dollar experts to serve on its advisory board, including Leroy Van Allen; Bill Fivaz; David Close, M.D.; John Roberts; Michael Faraone; and Larry Briggs. Robert W. Julian and Roger Burdette have volunteered as co-historians, adding critical knowledge to the history and evolution of silver dollars.

Individuals interested in joining the institute can choose from multiple membership levels, including annual bronze memberships (available to students age 18 or younger) for $10, silver memberships for $25, and gold (reserved for dealers or investors) for $100. Grading services, auction houses, numismatic organizations, and large dealers can also become donors at higher tiers.
