PNG Scholarship Recipient

Timothy Chen of Los Angeles, California, is the 2025 recipient of the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) scholarship for the ANA’s Summer Seminar. Chen graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Riverside last year with a degree in business administration. A participant of PNG’s nexGen Mentorship Program, he was a sales and marketing intern with Alhambra Coin Center in the summer of 2021, and he worked as a wholesale trading and business operations intern at Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas, in the summer of 2023. Fluent in English and Mandarin as well as conversational Spanish, Chen founded Winged Liberty Rare Coins, Inc. in Los Angeles in October 2024. “Timothy Chen is a rising star in the hobby and marketplace,” says PNG Executive Director John Feigenbaum. “The PNG is happy to assist him increase his numismatic knowledge with a scholarship to one of the two ANA 2025 Summer Seminar sessions.”

The ANA’s 2025 Summer Seminar will take place June 21-26 and June 28-July 3 on Colorado College’s campus in Colorado Springs. The PNG scholarship will cover airfare, tuition for one weeklong session, meals, and accommodations. “Summer Seminar is a once-a-year opportunity for numismatic learning and camaraderie that offers students a varied selection of weeklong courses designed for discovery or continued study,” says ANA Executive Director Kim Kiick. “Beyond the education, the sense of community makes Summer Seminar truly special.”
