This week’s headlines include a Swissmint coin honoring hot air balloons, MCA’s 2025 release, London’s Monopoly game, and silver American Eagles.

Swissmint has launched the first coin in its “Pioneers of Swiss Aviation” series. The inaugural issue honors Switzerland’s pioneering 19th-century balloonists and features early balloons set against Swiss mountains.

The Medal Collectors of America has released its 2025 club medal, “Ars et Memoriae” by Susan Taylor. The obverse depicts the muse of history, Clio. Pegasus, the offspring of Poseidon and Medusa, is pictured on the reverse. Mintage is limited to 50.

To mark Monopoly’s 90th anniversary and the launch of its commemorative coin, London became a life-sized game board last week as fans searched for a roaming giant silver top hat. The Royal Mint gave out 100 commemorative 50-pence Monopoly coins to successful participants.

The U.S. Mint will begin accepting orders for its 2025 American Eagle 1-ounce silver proof coin on September 23 at noon EDT. Priced at $95, the household limit is 10.
