This week’s headlines include A-Mark Precious Metals rebrand, digital euros, GOVMINT’s Mercanti Morgan Collection, and the third Arts of Money exhibit.

A-Mark Precious Metals, parent company of Stack’s Bowers, JM Bullion, and others, has announced it is changing its name to Gold.com. The company says the rebrand reflects its focus on precious metals, coins, and other collectibles.

The European Central Bank (ECB) is moving forward with a digital euro and is on track for a possible 2029 launch. Following a successful preparation phase, the ECB will now focus on technical readiness, legislation, and market collaboration. Pilot testing of the central bank digital currency could begin as early as 2027.

GOVMINT has unveiled the 2026 Mercanti Morgan Collection, featuring never-before-seen designs by former U.S. Mint chief engraver John Mercanti. Inspired by George T. Morgan’s 1878 dollar, the limited-edition ultra-high-relief gold and silver coins blend classic artistry with modern minting.

The third Arts of Money exhibit at the National Arts Club, New York, featured Adolph Weinman’s coinage and remarkable medallic and sculptural works, bridging art and numismatics. Next year’s display will honor Laura and James Earle Fraser.
