Whitman has released the latest editions of two bestselling guides, plus a brand-new title that explores America’s gold-rush coinage. Its Washington Quarters and Shield and Liberty Head Nickels books have been updated with current prices and new content. New to the Red Book Series lineup is Private and Pioneer Gold Coins by authors Donald Kagin and David McCarthy.

The U.S. Mint’s 2025 American Eagle gold proof coins will be available for purchase on March 20. Struck in 22-karat gold at the West Point Mint, these coins are collector versions of the official U.S. Mint American Eagle gold bullion coins.

Visitors to the 2025 Central States Numismatic Society (CSNS) convention will receive a free ANACS-certified, mint-condition 2015 Homestead National Monument of America quarter (while supplies last). The event will take place in Schaumburg, Illinois, April 24-26. Rare Nebraska money from the Higgins Museum of National Bank Notes will also be on display.

The Royal Mint has issued a commemorative coin honoring Beatles star John Lennon to coincide with the year that he would have celebrated his 85th birthday. The design is based on a well-known portrait of the singer taken on the roof of his penthouse in New York City.
