This week’s headlines include a free online numismatic seminar, Bulgaria and EU membership, Slovenian commemoratives, and custom DC labels.

The Royal Canadian Numismatic Association is hosting a free six-part Zoom symposium beginning June 24, leading up to its in-person convention in Calgary, July 15–19. The free webinar is open to the public and includes sessions on numismatic literacy, collecting tips, market trends, and more.

European Union finance ministers have endorsed a recommendation for Bulgaria to adopt the euro, clearing the path for the country to become the 21st member of the eurozone starting January 1, 2026.

To mark Nova Gorica’s designation as a European Capital of Culture 2025, the Central Bank of Slovenia has issued commemorative coins. Minted by the Portuguese Mint, coins are available in gold (100 euro), silver (30 euro), and bi-metallic (3 euro) versions.
