This week’s headlines include a Princess Anne commemorative, record-breaking Canadian convention attendance, Spink Books spinoff, and a new Royal Mint Museum chairman.

The Royal Mint has issued commemorative coins to celebrate Princess Anne’s 75th birthday. The coins honor her decades of royal service and dedication to charitable organizations.

Collectors attended the 2025 Royal Canadian Numismatic Association Convention (RCNA) in record numbers. The milestone event celebrated the 75th anniversaries of both the RCNA and Calgary Numismatic Society with educational sessions, a packed bourse, and special events on July 15-19.

Spink & Son Ltd. has sold Spink Books, a leading numismatic publisher, to The Pen & Sword Group. The new owner will continue Spink’s legacy and publish numismatic references under a new imprint, Script Collectables.

Sir David Cannadine has been appointed chair of the Royal Mint Museum’s Board of Trustees, succeeding Dr. Andrew Burnett. Cannadine brings extensive experience as a historian and cultural leader to the position and plans to expand the museum’s offerings.
