Photo: Getty Images/Toa55A member of Congress has introduced a bill to award a Congressional Gold Medal to wildland firefighters in “recognition of their strength, resiliency, sacrifice, and service to protect the forests, grasslands, and communities of the United States.” It has been referred to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.

The books have been written in French and contain 1,000 illustrations of the National Library’s exceptional collection of French royal coins from Louis IX to Louis XVI (1226-1793).
