This week’s headlines include new Taiwanese bank notes, PCGS turning 40, a free symposium, and TEC’s 60th anniversary.

The theme for Taiwan’s new series of bank notes is “Taiwan’s beauty.” The public is invited to vote for their favorite designs on the Central Bank’s website. The poll closes February 13.

Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) turns 40 years old this week. PCGS, which began operations on February 3, 1986, is the longest-serving international third-party grading and encapsulation firm in numismatics.

The Professional Numismatist Guild’s (PNG) educational symposium on selling coins online, presented at the 2026 Florida United Numismatists convention, is now available for free on YouTube. The dealer forum features expert advice from PNG and representatives from eBay and Whatnot.

The Elongated Collectors (TEC) celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2026. Founded in 1966 as a nonprofit organization, TEC now has over 750 members in several countries devoted to the study of rolled souvenir coins.
