This week’s headlines include Princeton curator Alan Stahl’s retirement, IAPN Book Prize nomination, California burger bust, and $TRUMP meme coin value.

Dr. Alan Stahl, curator of Princeton’s Numismatics Collection, the nation’s oldest academic coin collection, will retire in June. Since 2004, Stahl has expanded, cataloged, and taught from the university’s 115,000-item collection.

The International Association of Professional Numismatists (IAPN) has announced that Kolbe & Fanning’s recent publication Siege Notes of the World 1793–1913 by Lawrence C. Korchnak, Ph.D has been selected for the short-list of nominations for the prestigious IAPN Book Prize. The winner will be chosen at the IAPN general assembly this May in Rome.

Two women, Auriona Lewis and Tatiyanna Foster, were arrested for using counterfeit $100 bills at multiple California In-N-Out locations. The pair ordered small items from the burger chain so they could get the most cash back from the fake bills.

$TRUMP meme coin has lost nearly 90 percent of its value since it was introduced in January 2025. In one year, the price of the cryptocurrency has fallen from $45.50 to $5.50.
