This week’s headlines include The Waterloo Medal—Victory coin, EAC convention, Virginia colonial coinage newsletters, and final American Women Quarters.

The British Royal Mint will launch The Waterloo Medal—Victory coin featuring Benedetto Pistrucci’s original reverse design on January 27. A coin featuring the obverse of Pistrucci’s masterpiece was released last year.

The Early American Coppers (EAC) convention will take place on May 14-18, 2025, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. An optional evening event at the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh will feature a private display of the George Clapp large cent collection.

The Newman Numismatic Portal has added “The Generation” newsletters to its online database. The series, produced by Editor William Veach in the early 1990s, concerns Virginia colonial coinage.

The U.S. Mint has released the final five designs in its four-year American Women Quarters Program. The 2025 quarters depict activist Ida B. Wells, tennis star Althea Gibson, astronomer Vera Rubin, Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low and disability-rights activist Stacey Park Milbern.
