This week’s headlines include the shuttering of an auction company, Royal Mint 2024 commemoratives, and PNG membership changes.

Legend Rare Coin Auctions ceased operations on December 31, 2023. The company states that all sales have ended and consignors will be paid on time. This change does not affect Legend Numismatics, with which it is not affiliated.

Britain’s Royal Mint has revealed coin designs for 2024 issues that celebrate key events and anniversaries, including Buckingham Palace, Winston Churchill, the National Gallery, and the upcoming Olympics and Paralympics in Paris.

Vegas Coin Dealer will offer a rare silver “ruler ingot” from the Denver Mint in an online auction on January 11. Prior to the sale, it will be on display at the Florida United Numismatists convention in Orlando.

The Professional Numismatists Guild has introduced three membership categories: Gold; Gold Associate, intended for employees of gold members; and Silver, for non-dealers who are involved in numismatic-related projects.
