This week’s headlines include U.S. Bitcoin reserves, John Mercanti’s archive, a YN’s successful business, and Thailand’s new polymer baht notes.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the United States won’t buy more Bitcoin to add to its existing supply of cryptocurrency. The government will grow its cryptocurrency reserve only through law enforcement seizures, not federal purchases.

GOVMINT and former U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti have partnered to release his full 50-year archive, which includes sketches, plasters, and notes. This historic collection will debut through exclusive coin sets, prints, and signed items.

UVAToday recently published an article about Hunter Hicks, a 21-year-old University of Virginia student and ANA Summer Seminar attendee. Hicks has grown his hobby into a thriving enterprise and plans to expand his business after graduation.

The Bank of Thailand will launch polymer 50- and 100-baht bank notes in November. The new polymer bills will keep their current design but will feature enhanced security devices, including color-shifting ink and transparent windows.
