This week’s headlines include the final release of Queen Elizabeth II £1 coins, an upcoming CCAC meeting, a new Colorado U.S. Mint Authorized Purchaser, and a strong collectibles market.

The final £1 coins bearing Queen Elizabeth II’s image—more than 23 million—are entering circulation. The coins will circulate alongside those picturing King Charles III. The last of the Elizabeth II coins are dated 2022 and will become the rarest British £1 coins in active circulation.

A recent article published on cllct.com reports that the sports card market is booming. July set a record with $308 million in online sales, and major shows broke attendance records. While the piece focused on sports cards, it reflects a broader trend—collectible hobbies across the board appear to be thriving.
