The unveiling ceremony for the 2025 American Innovation dollar for Michigan took place April 8 at the Detroit Historical Museum in Michigan. The MotorCities National Heritage Area, Michigan History Foundation, and Michigan State Numismatic Society hosted the event. Attendees received a circulation-quality Michigan Innovation dollar. These same circulation-quality examples from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints are available to purchase from the U.S. Mint’s website in 100-coin bags and 25-coin rolls.

The American Innovation Michigan dollar depicts a 1930s-era assembly line of auto workers lowering an automobile body into place. The reverse, which is the same for all American Innovation dollars, features the Statue of Liberty. U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program designer Ronald D. Sanders created the obverse, and U.S. Mint Medallic Artist John P. McGraw was the sculptor.
