The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) has unveiled its 2026 circulating coins. The pieces feature King Charles III’s effigy on the obverse, with the reverse designs unchanged. The current reverses depict elements from the Cayman Islands, including a schooner and native animals. The Monnaie de Paris has minted all four denominations—1 cent, 5 cents, 10 cents, and 25 cents.

“Our national currency is more than a medium of exchange—it reflects our history, our identity, and our connection to the wider world,” says CIMA Acting CEO Patrick Bodden. “The introduction of these new coins marks an important moment for the Cayman Islands, and we are proud to share this transition with the community.”

Coins with the late Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait are sill legal tender and will circulate alongside the 2026 King Charles III issues. CIMA will announce the official release date on its website. Later this year, a limited-edition collector’s set of the Cayman Islands 2026 circulating coins will be available for purchase.
