With the 32nd release of the Royal Australian Mint’s Kangaroo bullion series coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the mint’s founding, the 2025 issue honors Canberra, Australia’s capital and home of the Royal Australian Mint. Canberra blends urban living with its surrounding natural environment, and the 1-ounce, .999-fine silver coin reflects that relationship.

The reverse depicts an eastern gray kangaroo with Canberra’s Parliament House, the Black Mountain Tower, and the Royal Australian Mint in the background, interspersed with stylized illustrations of dense bush land. Five hot air balloons float above the scene. Royal Australian Mint artist Bronwyn Scott designed the reverse, and the obverse features Dan Thorne’s effigy of King Charles III. The coin is available in a frosted uncirculated version (mintage of 10,000) and proof version (5,000 mintage). To order, visit the Royal Australian Mint’s website.
