Münze Deutschland has released the latest coin in its Serving Society series, which highlights the indispensable groups who contribute to the well-being of every individual. The fifth issue, a 10-euro polymer ring coin, is dedicated to first responders.

Anna Hrecka designed the obverse, which depicts two emergency professionals providing life-saving support to a man. Behind them are an ECG (electrocardiogram) line, a helicopter, and an ambulance bearing the European emergency number (112). A red polymer ring is overlaid on the design, and the legend RETTUNGSDIENSTE (“emergency services”) is above. The reverse, designed by Patrick Niesel, features a stylized eagle surrounded by the red polymer ring. BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND and the denomination surround the central design.

The rettungsdienste coin costs €29.95. It will be available on the Münze Deutschland website on April 23.
