Dariusz F. Jasek has written the second installment of the comprehensive catalog of Dutch gold coinage: Gold Ducats of The Netherlands, Volume II. This scholarly work is based on a database containing more than 34,000 coins and focuses on ducats issued by three historically important provinces—Holland, West Friesland, and Zeeland—providing an extensive overview of their coinage.

The catalog presents detailed descriptions of all known dates and varieties of gold ducats struck in these regions. Alongside widely known and collected issues, the book also documents previously unrecorded dates and varieties that have not appeared in earlier texts. Many newly identified specimens illustrated in the book come from private collections and auction archives. The work also includes rare and unique examples preserved in major museum collections, including the Vienna Coin Cabinet and the National Museum in Warsaw, as well as coins from notable hoards.

Arthur L. Friedberg, author of the well-known reference Gold Coins of the World, wrote the volume’s foreward. Written in English, the 391-page hardcover is available for €110 (US$128) and is intended for collectors, researchers, and auction professionals interested in European numismatic history.
