On October 21, the U.S. Mint and the Gettysburg Foundation will celebrate the release of the Gettysburg Address quarters at Gettysburg National Military Park.

With remarks from U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach, U.S. Mint Director Paul Hollis, Gettysburg National Military Park Superintendent Stephanie Stephens, and Gettysburg Foundation Acting President Barbara Sardella, the event will include a Civil-War era brass band performance. There will also be a ceremonial coin pour into a black stovepipe hat, similar to President Abraham Lincoln’s iconic hat. Following the ceremony, the U.S. Mint will distribute free Gettysburg Address quarters in commemorative coin boards.

ACNB Bank will also help coordinate a coin exchange in the Museum and Visitor Center. Only cash will be accepted during the coin exchange event, and no ATMs are on site.
