The Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society (EPNNES) has opened applications for its 2026 Newman Grant Program. Authors, researchers, and numismatic organizations can apply for amounts between $1,000 and $5,000. The award money may go toward photography, reproduction of research materials and graphic art services, database access fees, and travel. Electronic publications are preferred, as EPNNES wishes to direct funds toward expenses specifically related to research, rather than print publication. Those who receive grants agree to have their research published on the Newman Numismatic Portal. EPNNES expects to award approximately six grants in 2026. The application deadline is April 15. The society will announce the award recipients on May 25 to coincide with the late Eric P. Newman’s birthday.

The Newman Grant Program seeks to provide financial support for numismatists pursuing original research in American numismatics. The program launched in 2019 and supports research projects related to colonial numismatics, U.S. federal coinage, counterfeit detection, and other areas. Applications can be found on the Newman Numismatic Portal website.
