Six students have the opportunity to receive funding to attend the ANA’s 2025 Summer Seminar with an “Art of Engraving” scholarship. The scholarship covers tuition, on-campus lodging and meals for one week, and up to $750 reimbursement for transportation costs.

Underwritten by the Gilroy and Lillian P. Roberts Foundation in honor of Gilroy Roberts—the ninth chief engraver of the United States Mint—the “Art of Engraving” course at the Summer Seminar teaches artists how medals and coins are created. The hands-on class will take place during the second week of Summer Seminar (June 28-July 3). Laura Stocklin (jeweler, and engraver for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing) will teach students about the die-engraving process. The class covers the ancient art of hand die-engraving along with modern processes currently used to create coins and medals. Students who successfully complete the course will be invited to return for a second year. These students will also receive a 2026 scholarship.

Applications are available online, and the deadline to apply is February 21.
