From July 23-26, 2024, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) will be offering free demonstrations and tours at its Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The facility produces over half of the United States’s paper currency.

Visitors will be able to see billions of dollars and learn about the history of U.S. paper currency on self-guided tours through the BEP facility. The tour takes place on an elevated walkway above the production floor. Tours are available from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Demonstration participants can watch engravers at work, witness a refurbished 1900s spider press print currency, and learn about the production of intaglio printing plates. Visitors can also watch BEP workers sort through damaged currency for redemption and speak with BEP recruitment personnel about employment opportunities. Demonstrations will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Parking is free for the event. The facility is open to visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
