The Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation (ACEF) is seeking nominees for its Alan Kreuzer Memorial Award, which recognizes the anti-counterfeiting efforts of collectors, dealers, law enforcement agents, and others who diligently protect the numismatic marketplace.

Nominees must have actively helped in the fight against counterfeit coins, paper money, and/or fake third-party encapsulation holders during the past year. “Previous recipients have included individuals who helped catch counterfeiters or identified suspects selling fakes, or significantly helped combat counterfeiting by generously donating to the foundation,” says ACEF President John Albanese.

The award is named for the late Alan “Al” Kreuzer, a California coin dealer who was instrumental in alerting the hobby community to help identify counterfeit third-party certification holders and fake insert labels. After his death in 2016, his daughter, Chandra, donated $50,000 to help establish the Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force, now integrated into ACEF.

The deadline for nominating an individual for the 2025 Kreuzer Award is March 31. The nomination form is available on ACEF’s website. Nominations must include the candidate’s full name, title, business affiliation, and contact information, as well as the reason they should be considered for the award.
