On April 1, 1976, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple Computer, Inc. The company grew to revolutionize the technology industry, creating products such as the Apple II, Macintosh, iPod, and iPhone. For the past 50 years, Apple has reimagined how people interact with technology, and the company’s innovations have influenced generations.

To honor Apple’s far-reaching influence, the U.S. Mint features cofounder Jobs on California’s 2026 American Innovation $1. The reverse design depicts Jobs sitting on the ground with northern California’s landscape behind him. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA • STEVE JOBS • CALIFORNIA • MAKE SOMETHING WONDERFUL encircles the design. The Statue of Liberty graces the obverse, and the design includes a special Liberty Bell atop a gear “250” privy mark to honor the United States’ 250th anniversary.

The California 2026 American Innovation $1 coin will be available later this spring on the U.S. Mint’s website.
