Whitman Brands has announced the release of the 2027 edition of its Official Red Book: A Guide Book of United States Coins. This marks the 80th anniversary of the hobby’s leading coin reference.

The latest edition includes more than 13,000 listings covering coins, medals, tokens, sets, and collectibles, along with more than 1,000 new additions, including coin rolls, Deep Mirror Prooflike (DMPL) Morgan dollars, and 2026 semiquincentennial coinage. The book also features updated market pricing, over 2,000 images, and expanded coverage of errors, varieties, and modern issues.

CEO John Feigenbaum explained the company designed the 2027 edition around input from the community. “For eighty years, the Red Book has been the foundation of coin collecting,” he says. “With the 2027 edition, we’re not only honoring that legacy—we’re continuing to evolve the book based on real collector feedback, ensuring it remains both timely and essential in today’s market.” Editorial Director Larry Jewett added that grading guides and unified price charts were restored to improve usability.

Whitman will also release special collector’s editions featuring enhanced content celebrating 250 years of American coinage and online-exclusive bundles. Beginning with the 2027 edition, the Red Book will move to a summer release schedule to better align future editions with market pricing and major industry events like the ANA’s World’s Fair of Money®. Wholesale shipments are expected to begin in late June 2026.
