1,000 Stories Strong

It’s hard to believe, but we’ve officially published our 1,000th article! As we celebrate this milestone, it’s fun to look back at some of the moments that helped shape the Reading Room into what it is today. The ANA Publications Department officially launched the Reading Room on November 9, 2023. What started as a new way to share numismatic news and stories has grown into a trusted resource for collectors around the world.

From the beginning, the goal was simple: make it easier than ever for readers to stay connected to the hobby. The Reading Room combines breaking news, exclusive online articles, favorite columns from The Numismatist, Notable News roundups, and even audio versions of each story, making it easy to read—or listen—from a phone, tablet, or computer. The addition of the monthly Reading Room Rundown newsletter (which you can subscribe to below) has also helped readers discover new stories and revisit memorable articles from our archives.

Looking back, it’s exciting to see how much the Reading Room has evolved since that first day. Every article we’ve published has helped build a growing library of content for collectors of every experience level. Reaching 1,000 posts is a testament to the dedication of our publications team, our knowledgeable contributors, and the community of readers who continue to return, week after week, to learn something new.

The first post was just the beginning. One thousand articles later, we’re grateful to everyone who has read, shared, and supported the Reading Room, and we’re looking forward to writing the next chapter together.
